jarritos & healing
I’ve seen so much soul exploding, incredible live music in Kansas City lately, it’s been a thrilling reminder of how much aliveness it brings me. There is nothing like singing/screaming along with strangers and friends in the front row to a cover of Jill Scott’s “A Long Walk”, the band killing it.
There’s nothing better than belting familiar Mardi Gras call and response songs, weaving through the rhythm section and the horns in in the street at dawn, feeling them vibrate through my whole core.
Music is magic. It helps me hold my grief and access my joy. So I made y’all a playlist (jarritos & healing) that does both for me, and maybe for you too. What does feeling seen by a sad song feel like? Which songs make your chest churn with life force, and where does the urge to move your hips start from? Have you been in a stank face situation recently?! Just curious.
